What does CUT IT LIKE THE KINGS mean?
Often asked at our shows.
The origin's of the name and song originates from my fondest memories as a child.
"When I was young, I used to dream. About singing songs just like the Kings of Rock and Roll"
I remember vividly listening to the radio and records on my Grandmother's stereo console and actually dreaming of singing songs like Elvis, (wow that hair had me mesmerized) Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and so many many more all had me pretending and dreaming that I could be a star like they were to me.
In 2001 I sang in front of about 250 people for the first time in Los Angels, C.A., scared and nervous I sang with my eyes closed for most of the song (Cat Steven's "Where do the children play ") accompanied by an acoustic guitar and one mic going through the same small guitar amp.
A short time later I performed again for the same audience with the same set up an original ("Without you ") sneaking a peak through my partially closed eyes I noticed people ( Girls 🥰) nodding there heads to the rhythm and melody of my words,at that point I was hooked and began writing lyrics profusely. Fast forward a couple of Bands and 15 plus years, I wrote the song "CUT IT LIKE THE KINGS " about those early feelings, emotions and dreams of singing and performing music the way my childhood idol's did with their passion, honesty and fever. Making music with a rawness that sounds authentic has always been and still is the goal.
"And in those dreams, I'm dressed in Black, cus I'm really trying to look like Cash ya know, yeah you know."Some say dreams they fade away, but not for me, I want to Cut It, I want to CUT IT LIKE THE KINGS"
We thank you so much! For supporting local music and us as band. I hope this explains CLTK?

"I'll be the man that's dressed in black, trying to give the girls that heart attack, I WANT TO CUT IT, I WANT TO CUT IT LIKE THE KINGS "
